I just purchased a 2000 Savage for my wife and daughter to learn on but they want me to break it in. I've noticed that idling down for a minute eliminates backfiring on shut down, providing you use a premium fuel. Also avoiding rapid deceleration reduces the problem. It is a fun bike to ride however the seat is brutal. Can anyone recomend a company that makes a comfortable seat for this bike?
